  Let me get this straight, it's not what's 'under' the skirt that is the underlying cause of rape, but rather the 'enticing' style of dress? Hmmmm. Romans 14:14, "...nothing is defiled in itself; only where a man considers something to be defiled, to him it is defiled."

  Matt.5:28, "...everyone that keeps on looking at a women so as to have a passion for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart." Enticing style of dress?

  By the way, men get rape too! Is it because they were shorts or bathing suits? Am I to understand that the heart and mind has nothing to do with rape? Yeah right.

  Are you a "party person"?

  i went to a party last night.

  as i stood there enjoying the gratifying numbness of a bourban, i couldn't help but feel a vast disconnect between myself and the scene at hand: ridiculously loud music with the bass at three times it's normal level, sweaty bodies smoking with abandon the filthy weeds between their fingers, people coming in the door shouting a barbaric "what up!

  " someone's on the porch getting sick.

  Cigarettes

  when you left the jw's did you start smoking cigarettes or had you already started smoking cigarettes before?

  and for those who became jw's later on in life, were you smoking cigarettes before joing the organization and was it hard to stop?

  and now how many cigarettes do you smoke a day?

  Since were on this subject, why don't you guys give me your reasons for smoking. Yes, I've smoked and had cigars when drinking, but it never caught my interest. Yeah, once in awhile I'll take a puff but that's it, why, to be different at that moment.

  is'nt it interesting how things like reading the actual bible and becoming a more loving husband are all the way at the bottom.

  i guess they arent as important as cleaning the hall or sending them money and not nearly as important as going to meetings and reading their books so the indoctrinization can begin.

  Matt. 22:36-40, "Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the law?" First, is the love of your Creator, followed by your fellow man and yourself, in balance of course.

  Vs. 40, "On these two commandments the whole law hangs..." Yet, we have 43 goals to pursue and then some?

  Matt.15:3,8,9 "Why is it YOU also overstep the commandment of God because of your tradition?

  Vs,7,8. "You hyprocrites, Isaiah aply prohesied about YOU when he said, This people honors me with their lips, yet their heart is far removed from me."

  Shamus, during my lifetime, I've been in and out of this org. for periods of time. I don't often run into JW's except for my mom and daughter, but even then, I don't look upon them as JW's, but people. In fact, I find it unreasonable and ignorant to view people by their religion or ethnic origin. By the way, I'm treated like a son by mother and my daughter shows respect/honor for me. What more do I need?

  Ironic how some JW's have no qualms to say hello to me, while others turn their faces, as one poster said, as if though we have leprosy. How many JW's once upon a time viewed others with disdain or just follow the rules of the org. and then later experience the shoe being on the other foot? Things do have a way of returning, don't they?

  My being in and out for periods of time has served as useful conditioning. They no longer play an influential role in my life. I consider them as people and I leave it in the hands of my Creator to judge them. The name of the game is to be at peace with yourself.

  Jes, a great deal of pain went through my heart and soul reading your reply. Over the years I have slowly release my experiences but I cover it up with work and sports. We all handle our abuses differently. Other family members also experienced abuse, where able to laugh it off amongest ourselves, but its the deep wounds that need healing. One of my older sister just blanks out her experiences another is an emotional basket case. I don't push nor talk about the issues. I've made my peace with my mom. People who never experienced 'extreme' abuse don't have a clue to the agonizing pain and suffering they must daily live with. I fully understand when people want to take their lives.

  Some day well have to share some of our stories, privately.

  Jes. I'm glad you puked out that filth. It is difficult for people who never experienced such cruel inhumane treatment to fully understand the impact this has had on your life, especially, especially since childhood! Believe me when I say, I know where your coming from.

  I've always said that children you have been sexually molested and experienced extreme physical, mental and emotional abuse equates to a death sentence.

  Thanks for sharing and allowing others to get a insight of your past. My question to you is, what have you done to cope with this cruel inhumane experience?
